End of lease · fresh coat · colour

Which case sounds like yours?

The big handover

Before the move-out inventory

You are giving your apartment back, and the walls remember everything: the drill holes that tell the story of every shelf you ever owned, the teal accent wall that felt like a great idea in 2019, the marks behind the sofa. We fill, sand and repaint in neutral tones — a finish that holds up on inspection day, without sacrificing your last three evenings.

Because you live here

A fresh coat during your lease

No move planned — just a home that looks tired: a dull hallway, a marked bathroom ceiling, a bedroom to prepare before a new arrival. We work room by room, furniture protected, and you stay home during the works. By evening, the room breathes again.

The urge for colour

A wall that feels like you

Renting does not mean white walls forever. One properly painted colour wall changes a whole room — depending on your lease, your property manager’s consent may be needed, and we will tell you what usually goes through without fuss. And when you leave, we know how to make the colour disappear as cleanly as we applied it.

A room to refresh without moving out? See our interior painting service — and for the full end-of-tenancy service, the between-tenancy repaint.

Our edge becomes yours

We paint for property managers all year round. We know what will be checked.

Restoring apartments between two tenancies is our daily work in Geneva. On your inspection day, nothing surprises us — here is what a professional eye looks at.

Holes filled and blended in

Wall plugs, TV mounts, picture hooks: filled with plaster, sanded, then blended into the paintwork. Once done, nobody can tell where your shelves used to live.

Uniform finish under raking light

An approximate touch-up shows the moment light grazes the wall. We check our finishes under raking light — the same standard applied on inspection day.

Neutral tones that are truly neutral

Covering a deep blue is not a one-coat job. We restore the expected off-white, uniform, with no ghost of the old colour.

Ceilings — forgotten by everyone but the inspection

Water rings, kitchen or smoke yellowing: the ceiling is the first thing anyone sees when they look up. So do we.

Enamel on woodwork and radiators

Door frames, skirting boards, cast-iron radiators: redone in enamel paint — the detail that separates professional work from a Sunday roller job.

Clean edges, a clean home

Masking, dust sheets, final dusting: the apartment is handed back neat and visit-ready — not a building site for you to clean up after us.

Your lease and the move-in inventory remain the reference documents: for tenancy-law questions, your property manager or the tenants’ association (ASLOCA) are the right doors to knock on. We take care of the walls.

How it works

Four steps, zero headache.

  1. You write to us

Describe your situation: a planned move-out, a tired room, an urge for colour. A few photos are enough to get started, by form or by phone.

  2. We come and look

We assess on site and identify what really matters. No unnecessary work sold along the way.

  3. You receive your free quote

Clear and detailed, room by room. You know exactly what is planned, and you decide in your own time.

  4. We paint, you hand over the keys

Protection, painting, clean-up. Your apartment leaves our hands neat — ready for the inventory, or simply ready to live in.

The thorny question

Who pays for what: you or the landlord?

As a rule, normal wear and tear — paint ageing through time and careful use — remains the landlord’s responsibility. Damage beyond careful use can be charged to the tenant, taking the age of the paintwork into account. Every situation is assessed case by case: your lease and the move-in inventory are the reference documents.

Frequently asked questions

Tenant questions, painter answers.

Do I need my property manager’s consent to repaint?
Repainting walls in a neutral tone close to the original is generally unproblematic. For a strong colour or a visible change, the landlord’s written consent is normally required — your lease sets out the rules. When in doubt, a short message to your property manager avoids discussions on handover day. We are happy to advise on what usually goes through without fuss.
Will the property manager accept work done by a company I chose?
What counts at the inspection is the result: clean, uniform surfaces in the expected tones. Work carried out to professional standards by a company in the trade is made to pass that check. Renovhome restores apartments across Geneva all year round — we know the level of scrutiny, and we deliver to that level.
How early should I plan before the move-out inventory?
As early as possible once your departure is confirmed. That leaves time for the visit, the quote and calm planning — rather than racing through the final week between boxes and change-of-address forms. A home prepared in advance means a calmer inventory and a better-protected rental deposit.
Couldn’t I just repaint it myself?
Of course. But between buying materials, masking, sanding, filling and applying two coats, the weekend disappears — and a slightly-off job shows immediately under inspection light: roller marks, wobbly edges, white that does not cover. Our trade is making sure none of that shows. Your Sunday probably has better plans.
Can holes in the walls really be fixed?
It is our daily work. Wall-plug holes, furniture and TV fixings: filled, sanded, blended into the paintwork. Once finished, nobody can tell where your shelves were mounted — and that is exactly the kind of detail examined closely at move-out.
Do my coloured walls have to go back to white before I leave?
Most of the time, yes: leases generally require handover in neutral tones, close to the original state. And covering a raspberry or anthracite wall properly is not a one-coat job. We handle it with the right products, for a uniform white with no shadow of the old colour. Check which tones your lease allows — we take care of the rest.

Inventory day coming up?

Hand over the keys with peace of mind.

Don’t let three wall-plug holes complicate your move. We come and look, we advise, you receive a clear quote — and you decide.
